Autology World Ltd was formed in 2006 by Steve Moorhouse, David Black and Julian Harley. The 3 founders had previously successfully developed Moorhouse-Black into the leading provider of A level tuition via videoconferencing.

Moorhouse Black delivered tuition to students in over 250 UK Secondary Schools and was sold to the publishing group Wolters Kluwer in 2002.

Autology was created to bring the unique and world leading search and pattern recognition technology from Autonomy to the world of Education for the first time.

After 18 months of development work , Autology was launched to UK Secondary Schools in September 2007 and since then has been steadily increasing its student user base so that by September 2009 , over 50,000 UK students will be using and have access to Autology.

In June 2009, Autology increased its capital base when the Lisbon based, JGR Capital acquired a minority equity stake in the business. JGR Capital June 2009.pdf
